For the very last edition of the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort, Max Verstappen will be at the start with a special helmet design. To mark his final home race in Formula 1, the four-time world champion has opted for a striking style with a clear Dutch origin: Delft Blue.
A tribute in Delft Blue
While in previous years at Zandvoort Verstappen often chose pronounced orange or the red, white, and blue flag, this edition is dominated by a white and blue color scheme. The design is based on classic Dutch Delft pottery, combined with sleek blue accents and his familiar lion emblem on top.
With the text "Dankjewel Zandvoort" (Thank you Zandvoort) on the back, the driver thanks the Dutch public and the organization for the past years. As the Dutch Grand Prix will disappear from the Formula 1 calendar after the 2026 season, the helmet serves as a physical memento of this chapter in the dunes.
Design details
The helmet combines traditional motifs with the modern sponsor elements and aerodynamic features of his usual Schuberth helmet:
-
Base color: Matte white with blue, detailed Delft Blue patterns.
-
Accent colors: Subtle red and dark blue details along the visor and chin.
-
Personal touches: The Dutch flag and the inscription "Dankjewel Zandvoort" on the back.
-
Lion logo: The well-known lion on top of the helmet, executed in the blue color scheme.
Scale models and collectors
For special helmet designs like this, Verstappen's team traditionally releases scale models in sizes 1:2 and 1:4. For many motorsport collectors, these miniature helmets are a popular addition to a collection of scale models and Formula 1 memorabilia.
Since mini helmets and scale models are often displayed on a dresser, desk, or open cabinet, good positioning is important to keep the design visible from all angles. With an angled display stand or a clear wall mount, you can give both the F1 car model and the matching helmet a permanent place in your collection.
The last home race in Zandvoort
The upcoming race weekend is dedicated to the farewell of the Dutch GP on the calendar. With the Delft Blue design, Verstappen will drive his final laps on the dune circuit in front of his home crowd.
