The Formula 1 circus descends on the dunes this weekend for the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort. With its iconic banked corners and tight asphalt track, an intense race weekend is on the horizon. For the teams and drivers, every session counts, as overtaking is not easy on this technical circuit.
To ensure you don't miss a single session, we've listed the complete Formula 1 schedule for the upcoming weekend.
Dutch Grand Prix 2026 Schedule
Throughout the weekend, the drivers will follow the standard race weekend format, consisting of three free practice sessions, qualifying on Saturday, and the main race on Sunday.
| Day | Session | Time |
| Friday, August 21 | First Free Practice (FP1) | 12:30 - 13:30 |
| Second Free Practice (FP2) | 16:00 - 17:00 | |
| Saturday, August 22 | Third Free Practice (FP3) | 11:30 - 12:30 |
| Qualifying | 15:00 - 16:00 | |
| Sunday, August 23 | Race (72 laps) | 15:00 - 17:00 |
Overtaking and Strategy in the Dunes
Qualifying on Saturday afternoon is crucial for the course of the weekend. Because the track is relatively narrow and the gravel traps are close to the asphalt, a mistake in qualifying quickly leads to a difficult starting position for the race.
On Sunday, the cars will complete 72 laps of the 4.259-kilometer track. Tire wear and the timing of pit stops play a major role here, especially given the chance of a safety car during incidents on the track.
