The F1 testing for the 2026 season has begun!

De F1 testdagen van het 2026 seizoen zijn weer begonnen!

The new F1 season is slowly coming to life. This week, the official test days for the 2026 season have started, and for car enthusiasts, that means only one thing: finally, cars back on track. No race for points, but the first real signs of form, reliability, and new technology.

During the test days, everything revolves around collecting data. Teams run long stints to test engines, aerodynamics, and tires. Especially this season, these tests are extra interesting. The regulations for 2026 bring significant changes, such as modified power units, more focus on electric support, and new aerodynamic rules. That makes every lap on the circuit just a bit more exciting to follow.

Unfortunately, the results remain unclear. This is because the first test week is completely private. Only employees of the teams, Formula 1, and the FIA are present at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

What immediately stands out is how differently teams interpret the new rules. Small details on the front wing, sidepods, or suspension can make a big difference later on. That's precisely what makes these test days so enjoyable to follow. You see ideas that disappear later, but sometimes also solutions that stick around for the entire season.

For fans, this is the moment to speculate. Who seems to be in a good position? Which car looks stable, and who is still battling teething problems? Of course, a test day doesn't tell the whole story, but it provides plenty of talking points until the first race. And honestly, it's just nice to hear and see F1 again after the winter break.

In the coming weeks, it will become clearer who has done their homework well. Until then, we enjoy test footage, onboard shots, and technical updates!
