At Boldons, it's all about cars. Until now, we were mainly known for our holders and stands for LEGO cars, but something new is coming soon: scale model cars. A logical expansion, as many LEGO car enthusiasts also have a broader passion for cars in miniature form!

Why scale models are interesting

Scale model cars have held a permanent place among collectors for decades. Whether it's classic race cars, modern hypercars, or iconic Formula 1 cars, scale models often capture the details of real cars surprisingly well. For LEGO fans, this can be a great addition: in addition to building brick cars, you can now also add ready-made models to your collection. Combining both provides variety and makes your display even more impressive.

Difference between LEGO and scale models

Where with LEGO you build yourself and the challenge lies in the construction, with scale models it's all about the precision with which they are designed. A scale model such as 1:18 or 1:43 comes directly out of the packaging and is ready to be presented. This makes them ideal to place next to your LEGO sets, especially if you are a fan of a specific car brand or type of car. For example, you can place a LEGO Technic Porsche next to a scale model of the same car: a unique combination that often appeals to enthusiasts.

We are working to include a selection of scale models that fit our existing target audience. Think of brands like Ferrari, Porsche, and Bugatti, cars that are also popular in LEGO form. The idea is that as a collector, you can come to Boldons not only for displaying your LEGO cars but also for expanding your collection with high-quality scale models. This creates a wider choice for fans who want to show off their passion for cars.

Combining scale models with LEGO can work surprisingly well. For example, place a LEGO Speed Champions Ferrari next to a scale model Ferrari in a different scale, and you get a nice contrast between playful building and realistic representation. With the right lighting and displays, you can turn your man cave or display cabinet into a place where both worlds come together.
